QNX Software Systems is pleased to announce the general availability of QNX RTOS v4 Product Suite 2011.

Highlights of this release:

The QNX RTOS v4 Product Suite 2011 includes the following enhancements:

Updated USB Stack components
The latest fixes from the QNX6 USB stack have been back-ported to the QNX4 USB stack. The majority of these fixes address device incompatibility issues with newer USB devices.

Updated TCPIP 5.1 Stack
The TCPIP 5.0 stack which was previously available in a separate download has been updated to v5.1 and integrated as part of the release.

Updated Network drivers
The following network drivers have been updated to support new versions of the controller family:
" Net.e1000
" Net.ether82557
" Net.i82540
" Net.rtl8169
" Net.rtl

Updated to support for newer PATA/SATA chipsets
Updates include support for Intel ESB and 82801 SATA chipsets as well as ATI SB400 and JMicron 36x.

Updated support for newer Intel graphics chipsets
Updates to PG.i830 driver to add support for new controllers.

Enhanced touchscreen support
The following USB toucscreen drivers have been updated to support new versions of the controller family:
" devu-egalax - driver for EGALAX USB touchscreen controllers
" devu-elo - driver for Elo USB touchscreen controllers
" devu-microtouch - driver for Microtouch SC USB touchscreen controllers
" devu-touchintl - driver for Touch International DMC TSC-10 touchscreen controller

Projekt podpory pre RTOS QNX 4

QNX Software Systems potvrdzuje existujúcim RTOS QNX 4 zákazníkom, že pokračuje v podpore tejto verzie RTOS. Výzvou pre toto potvrdenie je potreba nahradenia staršieho HW, ktorý už nie je distribuovaný, novším, aby bolo možné naďalej distribuovať riešenia vytvorené v tomto RTOS. Aby bola táto podpora dostupná širokej verejnosti, vytvoril sa na stránke Foundry27 projekt "QNX RTOS v4".

V tomto projekte sa riešia najmä

• podpora aktuálne dostupného HW realizovaná poskytnutím prístupu k novým obslužným programom pre RTOS QNX v4. Sú to obslužné programi pre sieťové karty, disky, grafiku, audio, USB a ďalšie zariadenia, ktoré sa zverejňujú priebežne počas roka
• odsúhlasené opravy chýb
• vytvorenie fóra, kde záakzníci môžu zverejňovať otázky k RTOS QNX vč a získať odpovede od komunity
• zverejňovať oficiálne QNX RTOS v4 Update CDs, ktoré obsahuje všetky nové drajvre, raz ročne
